Kim Delaney (born Kim Delaney) is an American actor who is best recognized for her role as Detective Diane Russell in ABCs NYPD Blue and for which she earned an Emmy Award. In addition, she was a part of shows like All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives and CSI: Miami. Delaney was born as the only child of her mother who was a homemaker and an executive in the United Auto Workers. Delaney lived most of her life with 4 brothers. Although she was a child with a goal of becoming journalist, it was not until the time of her high school days that she began modeling. After moving from New York City and gaining an experience working with commercials in New York did she achieve an aspiring career as court reporters. As a teenager the first time she appeared as an actor was on the 1980 soap opera All My Children. Delaney an actress in her early years from the 1980s has appeared in numerous TV shows and dramas. Contrary to her career success, her private life isn't as successful and happy. There were two failed marriages, and has struggled with addiction issues. In 2005, the actress lost the custody of her son.
