Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on the 26th of March on the 26th of March, 1991. She's an American artist and songwriter, as well as the first artist to be signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. In October of 2016, Ari Lennox released her EP Pho. It was here that she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox posted her songs online in 2012 when she released five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014 she continued to share her music over the internet, including her self released single Bound. On 21st of July 2015, Omen was featured on Elephant Eyes the track"Sweat It Out. The following year, her music circulated throughout the Dreamville team, as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some references for Rihanna.
